Prithwish De, MHSc, PhD, is Co-principal at Epidemiologic Management and Consulting. He is an epidemiologist and has over 15 years of experience working with federal, provincial and regional public health agencies as well as the non-profit sector. His focus has been in the areas of infectious diseases and cancer, and has included the study of social networks in disease transmission, bloodborne infection risk in vulnerable populations (e.g. injection drug users, prisoners), sexually transmitted infections outbreak and surveillance, cancer policy research, and cancer surveillance. Dr. De holds a PhD in Epidemiology from McGill University and a Master of Health Sciences in Public Health from the University of Toronto. He is an assistant professor with the University of Toronto’s Dalla Lana School of Public Health.
Arsham Alamian, MSc, PhD is Co-principal at Epidemiologic Management and Consulting (EMC). He has over 13 years of experience in scientific research, epidemiological study design, analysis of complex survey data, obtaining research grants, reporting in scientific and medical journals, teaching epidemiology, and supervising graduate students. Dr. Alamian holds a PhD in Public Health with specialization in Epidemiology from the University of Montreal, as well as an MSc in Pharmacy with specialisation in Pharmacoepidemiology from Laval University. His research interests include the study of multiple behavioural risk factors for chronic diseases (including physical inactivity, cigarette smoking, alcohol drinking, and overweight/obesity), clustering of risk factors for chronic diseases, use of dietary supplements, cardiovascular disease epidemiology, cancer epidemiology, as well as theoretical-based modeling.
